Military Council of Catholic Women
European Region 2016-2017
Dear Members of MCCW,
Please take time and consider a calling to serve the women of MCCW-Europe as the Regional Coordinator, Financial Manager or Secretary on the European Board. In Europe we welcome ACTIVE DUTY, the SPOUSE of an ACTIVE DUTY member and RETIREES to serve MCCW Europe. A member of an MCCW Chapel Group needs to have the approval of the Priest Moderator of your MCCW-Chapel Group. Please contact email@example.com
During a time when senior military leaders are searching for a means of building resiliency, MCCW-Worldwide is helping to form and strengthen the faith of women in military communities. In doing so, MCCW further aids military parishes in actively growing disciples of Jesus Christ through the faith formation of their children and spouses.
MCCW operates both within the United States as well as overseas. The objectives of MCCW contribute to the goals and objectives of the Archdiocese for Military Services.
MCCW reflects a visible presence of Christ in military communities by fostering and nourishing women in spirituality, leadership,
and service. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, MCCW serves as a vital enhancement of the religious support mission of military chapels.
The Military Council of Catholic Women (MCCW) will celebrate its sixtieth anniversary in 2015! Founded in Berchtesgaden, Germany in 1955, MCCW became a vital part of most Catholic American army chapels in Europe, assisting in religious education, service to the poor, and liturgical and social functions. Since its inception, MCCW-Worldwide has expanded to military chapels throughout the world.
When significant reorganization within the Army Chaplain Corps occurred in 2013, Archbishop Broglio seized upon the opportunity not only to refuge MCCW-Worldwide under the wings of the Archdiocese of Military Services (AMS), but also to expand the mission of MCCW to reach out to all the women and families of each military sister service in the global archdiocese.
